Ulrich is a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and recently joined the team at DWD. He has over 30 years’ planning experience gained from working in Southern Africa and the UK.

Ulrich started his career in South Africa as a town planner in local and national government, before moving into private practice in 2005. Since 2013, after relocating permanently to the UK, Ulrich worked for a multi-disciplinary international consultancy, focussing on major infrastructure projects in the rail, wastewater and aviation sectors.

A large part of this work was undertaken whilst being seconded to various major infrastructure projects, both at client and contractor level, working on the preparation, submission and implementation of development consents.

Ulrich has experience in working across various consenting regimes including the Town and Country Planning Act (1990), the Planning Act (2008) as well as Transport and Works Act Orders and Hybrid Bills.

Ulrich excels in building collaborative working relationships within multi-disciplinary project teams and across the spectrum of stakeholders.

More recently since joining DWD, Ulrich has been working on renewable energy schemes across the UK, delivering site selection reports, planning statements and preparing applications for submission.
