Links Solar Farm is a 65 hectare site on farmland. The developer, Low Carbon, wanted to develop a solar photovoltaic farm with battery storage that would operate for 40 years and provide clean, renewable energy for over 11,000 local homes.

Layer Solar Farm is a 97 hectare site of Grade 3 farmland. The developer, Low Carbon, wanted to develop a solar photovoltaic farm that would operate for 40 years and provide clean, renewable energy for over 16,000 local homes.
Harlesford Solar Farm, Cowley

Harlesford Solar Farm is a 78 hectare site on farmland at Harlesford Farm. The developer, Low Carbon, wanted to develop a solar photovoltaic farm with battery storage that would operate for 40 years and provide clean, renewable energy for over 15,000 local homes.
Maisemore Solar Farm, Tewkesbury
Post-submission, awaiting determination.
We are working with Renewable Connections to secure consent for a 37MW solar farm, enough to power approximately 11,000 homes per year.
Vicarage Drove Solar Farm, Boston
Consent February 2022.
DWD has secured planning permission for a 49.9 MW solar farm on land north-west of Bicker in Lincolnshire.

Fern Brook Solar Farm, Dorset

Thorpe Park Solar Farm, Essex
Planning permission granted February 2023.
We are working for Low Carbon to secure consent for a 40MW solar farm, enough to power 13,291 homes per year.

Mallard Pass, Essendine (NSIP)
DWD are providing planning on Mallard Pass; it will generate renewable energy for 90,000 homes and is the equivalent of taking 35,700 cars off the road.
Net Zero Teesside DCO (under examination)
Now at Secretary of State decision stage.
Net Zero Teesside (NZT) is a Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) project which comprises a number of elements, including a new gas-fired power station, with state-of-the-art carbon capture technology, and a CO2 pipeline transport network connecting to local industry.
Tees CCPP DCO (granted)
DWD is advising Sembcorp Utilities (UK) Limited on its proposals to construct and operate a new combined cycle gas turbine power station with a gross electrical output of up to 1,700 megawatts on the site of the former Teesside Power Station, which forms part of the Wilton International Site, Teesside.
Keadby 3 Carbon Capture Power station DCO (under examination) & Keadby 2 CCGT S36 (granted)
DCO granted.
Keadby 3 is being developed by SSE Thermal and Equinor and could become the UK’s first power station equipped with carbon capture technology by the mid-2020s. SSE has publicly committed to only build power stations with a clear route to decarbonisation.
South Humber Bank Energy Centre DCO (granted)
SHBEC will make use of around 750,000 tonnes of Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) per annum in order to generate approximately 95 megawatts of electricity, enough to power up to 50,000 homes.
Peterhead Carbon Capture Power Station S36 Application (application under preparation)
Application has been submitted and is under determination.
SSE Thermal and Equinor are exploring opportunities for decarbonised power generation on the site of SSE’s existing power station at Peterhead in Aberdeenshire. The new gas-fired power station, which will be fitted with carbon capture technology, will have an electrical output of up 910MW.
VPI Immingham OCGT DCO (granted)
VPI Immingham B Ltd (‘VPIB’) is proposing to build a new gas-fired power station at its site along Rosper Road to the north of Immingham. To generate 299 megwatts.
Wylfa Newydd Nuclear Power Station DCO (withdrawn, examination completed)
DWD provided strategic planning advice in relation to the submission of an application for a Development Consent Order for a new nuclear power station on Anglesey known as Wylfa Newydd.
Bradwell B Nuclear Power Station DCO (application under preparation)
DWD are providing planning advice to EDF Energy and CGN in relation to their proposals for a new nuclear power station at Bradwell in Essex (Bradwell B).
King’s Lynn B CCGT S36 (granted)
DWD has acted as lead consultant to EP UK Investments on the variation of the Section 36 consent for the King’s Lynn ‘B’ combined cycle gas turbine (‘CCGT’) Power Station Project in Norfolk
Ferrybridge Multifuel 2 DCO (granted) & Ferrybridge Multifuel S36 (granted)
DWD has advised Multifuel Energy Ltd (MEL) a joint venture between SSE and Wheelabrator Technologies Inc. on proposals for two multifuel power stations on land at SSE’s Ferrybridge ‘C’ coal-fired Power Station site near Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
Slough Multifuel
At examination.
We are working with SSE on a DCO for an extension to Slough Multifuel plant to increase the generation from 50Mwe to 60Mwe, using energy from Waste Derived Fuel into low carbon electricity and heat.
Humber Zero - North Lincolnshire
(Phillips 66 Ltd & VPI Immingham LLP) – DWD is currently acting as planning advisor in respect of various decarbonisation initiatives, including the installation of carbon capture plants at the Phillips 66 Ltd Humber Refinery and VPI’s CHP Plant. The carbon capture plants will link into either the Humber Low Carbon Pipeline or V Net Zero carbon dioxide transportation infrastructure.
