Ged Denning

Ged has over 25 years of professional property experience as a General Practice surveyor and has been with DWD since 2004 advising on a diverse range of property matters.

Ged has a detailed working knowledge in the areas of Business Rates across all property types, with specialist experience within the electricity generation industry and across multiple types of technology (CCGT, OCGT, Coal, PV, BESS/Grid Scale Battery/Synchronous Compensator etc).    Principally dealing with high value properties, Ged advises on all aspects of rates mitigation strategies from general Rateable Value challenges to exemptions and relief applications in order to secure minimum levels of rates liability.

Having considerable experience in Compulsory Purchase matters, Ged advises both Acquiring Authorities and claimants on all aspects of the statutory process and valuation.

As an RICS Registered Valuer, Ged provides Strategic Valuation advice with particular expertise in complicated land assembly matters (access, ransom/synergistic or marriage value issues) having worked on several large Greenbelt housing development projects.  Ged continues to support clients on aspects of all valuation related matters for electricity generation projects including capital valuations as part of acquisition/development advice, the negotiation of rights including easements and land rental valuations.

Ged also has experience in general Lease Advisory covering rent review negotiations, rental valuations and lease renewals across most types of property.

Ged qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2005 and is a member of both the Rating Surveyors Association and Compulsory Purchase Association.  His clients include private owners/occupiers, national and international firms with portfolios of commercial property throughout the UK.
