Our client is a property company who own the freehold of a 20,000 sq ft Grade A office constructed circa 2007 and situated in the Home Counties. They had purchased the property to supplement their portfolio, however there was an issue regarding a potential disposal of the asset due to a defective lease clause.

As a result of the concerns over the disposal, our client required a team of expert valuers to develop a damages claim against their former solicitors regarding an alleged conveyancing error.

The DWD team provided expert valuation evidence to assess the Diminution in Market Value of our client’s freehold interest as a result of this alleged error.  In addition, we attended a mediation with all Parties concerned.  This assisted in the successful settlement of the claim in advance of the issuance of proceedings.

Our client was successful in their claim for a negotiated settlement of a substantial claim for damages.
