Development Consent Order granted for the Teesside Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station

Infrastructure & Energy

DWD achieved another landmark energy consent last week when the Secretary of State granted consent for a new combined cycle gas turbine power station with a gross electrical output of up to 1,700 megawatts on the site of the former Teesside Power Station, which forms part of the Wilton International Site, Teesside.

As the project represented a ?Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project? under the Planning Act 2008, it required a Development Consent Order (DCO).  DWD worked as part of the multi-disciplinary team assisting the applicant, Sembcorp.  DWD led all planning inputs for the project, including producing the necessary documents for the application submission and project managing the examination process.
