DWD are acting for Obsidian Strategic and have submitted an application for 370 homes, a care home, neighbourhood centre and new primary school on land east of Chichester, West Sussex.
The application has been submitted ahead of adoption of the new Local Plan which allocates the site and an adjacent one for strategic housing development. Because the new plan has yet to be adopted, the draft site allocation carries only limited weight, and a comprehensive case has been made based on the site being in a sustainable location and the engagement of the presumption in favour of sustainable development. The application was submitted in October 2024 and DWD are now working toward a planning committee later in 2025.
DWD also represented Obsidian in engagement with the Local Plan Examination, and with the Neighbourhood Plan consultation.
